Snaps
one button turns on the " snaps " tool which will then allow you to snap lines and other drawing shapes to midpoints, end points, circle centers, measurement point centers and any vertex. With Vista fx snapping means snapping to x,y and Z. Therefore when you download from total station to the measurement log, the common points auto-connect in lines or polylines and snap to the elevation points.
Terrain modeling
since the total station points with common descriptions snap together as lines or polycurves, and snap to elevation points, you can then easily model the terrain by using snaps and the fill tools. Then you can fill those areas with many choices of textures to create a realistic and deadly accurate terrain model.
Live measurement logs
Download data from any total station directly to a live log running on the side of the interface. That means you can click on any point and it will highlight in the log so you can see what it is. It also means you can edit the point descriptions, re-order the points, set the origin to where ever you like, and change the origin to 0,0,0 instead of 5,000, 5,000, 100 or whatever.
Merging measurement logs
Vista FX3 allows you to merge multiple measurement logs graphically or via the merge log form. In any case it is a 2 click process to accurately merge logs. This way you can open a template drawing and import crash scene measurements and line them up on the template by 2 common points. Or, total station technicians can work after the crash with on scene technicians using hand measurement techniques. |
Smart Drawing Shapes
convert any drawing shape into a precise 3D drawing shape like traffic cones, barrels, guard rails, chain link fences, railway tracks, no post concrete guard rails, etc. Each of these shapes allows precision editing under Properties on the right click menu.
Add Parallel lines, arcs, polycurves
Vista FX3 allows you to draw one line, arc, or polycurve - then right click to " Add Parallel " and Vista FX3 asks you the distance from the original. Simply enter the distance and the new line, arc, or poly appears. In the case of the 3 point arc or polycurve, the change in radius is calculated to make the positioning of roadway lines easy.
Precise vehicle insertion
Vista FX3 allows users to choose any vehicle from 1971 to 2006 and insert it on the diagram precisely to scale. The vehicle exhibits on the 2D and 3D diagram precisely to scale illustrating precise door pillar positions for visibility, bumper profiles, etc.
Damaging vehicles to scale 
Vista FX3 is the only product anywhere that allows users to change the vehicle profile in 2D and 3D and illustrate the damage profile. This is accomplished via an ingenious interface in which users can use your mouse and move vertices which display the crush relative to the un deformed perimeter of the vehicle. The damage will be precisely to scale allowing users to determine speed from crush via the Vista FX3 calculation tool (Visual Analyst) and allow users to determine collision alignment by damage profiles.
